SXSW (South By Southwest), the largest Pop/Rock music-showcase festival in the world, is held annually over the course of 6 days during the March Spring break in Austin Texas. I attended the 2017 SXSW Festival in Austin Texas for Radio FRO in March. This show features new material from some of my favorite performers / bands that I got to see at SXSW: Spoon, The New pornagraphers, Hippo Campus and Kate Nash as well as a short Chuck berry tribute.
This edition of Potluck will be a Women Only playlist honoring International Womens Day thats celebrated in March. The show contains over 50 minutes of uninterrupted music. Women singing out against sexual, racial, and political oppression. Many of the songs were specifically produced as a protest against the Donald Trump regime. There are no comments - the songs (and the women) speak for themselves.
Next month Ill be covering the week-long SXSW Music Festival held in Austin Texas for the sixth consecutive year. The first part of this show is a preview of this years up-coming Festival. Following that segment, Ill be bringing you even more songs from 1000 Days, 1000 songs project playlist. Songs written and recorded by musicians for a Trump-free America.

The Edinburgh International Festival offers three weeks of world-class music, theatre, opera and dance and in the last 2 years it has be offering more upscale popular music as well. This recently released 59-track, six hour box set was curated by the brothers Aaron and Bryce Dessner of The National and is a real gem. The 3 disc LP was several years in the making. The crème de la crème from the pop-indie scene covers practically all the Dead hits. For this show I put together a playlist of 10 songs from this epic compilation. All together making up over 55 minutes of uninterrupted music.

In March I attended the South by Southwest (SXSW) Music Festival for Radio FRO. Celebrating its 30th anniversary, SXSW is the largest Pop/Rock music showcase festival in the world. The festival takes place over the course of 5 days during the March spring break in Austin, Texas. I had a choice of some 2,000 plus bands, representing over 50 countries There I got to see almost 40 concerts. Most of these in small venues and again Austin has earned its title as the live music capital of the world. In this show youll be hearing tracks from the 15 bands that impressed me the most.
