Tonga.Onair – Free radio for the Tonga people!

Das Entwicklungsprojekt "Tonga.Onair" ermöglicht der durch den Bau eines Staudammes zerrissenen Bevölkerungsgruppe der Tonga die Kommunikation über das Medium Radio und unterstützt die Selbstorganisation. Das Projektteam hat im Süden Sambias - an der Grenze zu Simbabwe - ein Radiostudio samt Mast aufgebaut und Workshops mit den Menschen vor Ort durchgeführt.

Conference Online

The Conference 12:30 till 17:30 will be broadcast from the Lecturespace, Marienstrasse on Air on Radio FRO 105.0 MHz as well as via Livestream. Additionally the confernce will be accessible for the first time via Videostream and can be attended via IRC chat. For more Infos click here.

Konferenz Online / On Air

Die Konferenz wird von 12:30 bis 17:30 aus der Tanzschule Horn in der Marienstrasse auf Radio FRO 105.0 MHz bzw. im Liwest Verorgungsbereich auf 96.5 MHz Live und via Audiostream übertragen. Erstmals wird die Konferenz dieses Jahr auch via Videostream im Internet mitverfolgbar sein und die aktive Teilnahme ist via Chat möglich.

He is reasercher in the field of radio for years. He works at the university of Halle (Germany) and is active in radio - arts - experiments.

Otto Tremetzberger

Otto Tremetzberger ist seit langem im Bereich nbon kommertieller freier Radios tätig. Er war Geschäftsführer von radio FRO, ist derzeit Geschäftsführer von Freies radio Freistadt, war an dessen Aufbau maßgeblich beteiligt, ist seit jahren im verband der freien Radios Österreichs, VFRÖ aktiv tätig und ist initiatives Gründungmitglied des vereins matrix.ev und dessen ersten Projektes CODY.

Hans J.Kleinsteuber

He is active in political sciences since the 1970s, is active as mediascientist since the 1990s and concerned with the digtialization of broadcast, especially in the field of audio broadcast, for years. Researcher and teacher at the university of Hamburg.

Gabriele Kotsis

Gabriele Kotsis is IT Expert and operated 2003–2007 as Head of the Austrian Computer Society and will become with fall 2007 vice-rector of reserch at the Johannes Kepler University, Linz. She works in the field of telecooperation and is therefore well informed about new approaches in the field of computing and especially information and telecommunincation technologies.

Christian Jungwirth

As one of the pioneers in Austrian private radio Christian Jungwirth made a name for himself as the initiator and founder of several independent radio stations in Austria as early as the 1990s, including Orange 94.0, “das Freie Radio” in Vienna. From 1998 –2001 he also served as General Manager of the nation-wide Association of Free Radios Austria. Since 2001 he has continued his media-policy work with this association in the position of a board member. In January 2005 Christian Jungwirth accepted the position of Managing Director of the newly founded Vienna Community Television Station Okto.

Christoph Lindenmaier

Christoph Lindenmaier is radio & media expert whose involvement with Free Radio goes back to its very inception. Most of Austria's community radios found support from him in technical and/or conceptional way. He was invi´olved in several european and international media projects, like AIM, which was dedicated to free speech and media empowerment in the balkans. Autonomy and affordability are main aspects he stresses whcih need to be at the core of the concerns of free media.
