PREFAB DREAMS

If you like being around on foot in Linz you for sure already noticed the vacant house located in the Schillerstraße within the city centre of Linz. The former "Suppentopf" as well as the flats in the same house were left years ago by their inhabitants.

A group of young artists from the University of Art in Linz came across the abandoned house and will expose art installations and videos there starting from April 21st until 28th.

For one week the house's premises will be open for visitors and temporarily revived.

This exhibition antecedes the project "Leerstand Blumau" which was organised by the same group of artists Ulrich Fohler, Thomas Kluckner, Kristina Kornmüller, Ingo Leindecker, Petra Moser, Doris Prlic, Ulrike Seelmann and Wes Westenburger in July 2007.

OUT OF DEMAND
CONTENT-DRIVEN LIVE PERFORMANCE
The live audio performance "Out Of Demand" uses the content of the Cultural Broadcasting Archive CBA exemplarily to reflect the change of media usage especially in context of the personalisation of content, the convergence of media and channels of distribution and - linked with that - the changing of listening habits.

The main topics of reflection are particularly the ongoing change of the reception of the medium radio, the different forms of listening as well as new technological ways of consumption. The processes of searching, finding and personalising are integral parts of the performance.

Every performed track is built on a different topic, fragments of broadcasts are cut, chopped, looped or transformed into atmospheric ambient music. Sometimes the topic of a track is obvious and serves as a statement, some tracks are more sound-collages than music, and with others the audience experiences an atmosphere created by abstract sounds.

In this way content evolves into music and music becomes content.

INGOMAR WUNDERBAR
About the surrender of the enforcement to strive for personal luck. The background is the contradictorily relationship between individual luck and external enforcement.
Own habits have to comply with conventional concepts of luck. The assimilation of moral concepts to traditional ones is assumed. The conquest of norms, rules, traditions and general principles of moral values require the intellectual and emotional disentanglement and the capability to position oneself within the moral system.

The emotional clash and the conflict of identity of the main character of the performance is introduced by a remake of a german "Schlager", which transports all imaginations of luck on an emotional level. The character begins to resist against the heteronomy and perambulates different stages of emotional conditions. The well image is being questioned while the hassle with oneself gets out of hand and drifts to capricious madness.

The character begins to wish itself back in an infantile way to the ideal childlike world.
In the end it falls back into its original, moderate and assimilated condition.
The lyrics are reduced to four repeating strophes, which intensifies the disposition of the sound and lets the audience comprehend the different emotional conditions of the character.
