Radio Student Radio Student is one of the oldest and biggest European non-commercial radio stations broadcasting a student not-for-profit radio programme. It was born as an echo of the student¹s revolutionary year of 1968, - founded by the Socialist association of Students of the University of Ljubljana. Apart from creating and broadcasting artistic, information and musical programmes, Radio Student lays great stress on its educational role. In this respect, Radio Student educates and teaches young people for their work on the programme, for their work as journalists or for other jobs, functions and activities in a modern radio station. The primary objective is to promote the interests of social and cultural minorities as well as the interests of the student community. Presenting items of information, art forms or music overlooked or deliberately neglected by other media is a basic principle of Radio Student. According to latest surveys Radio Student has approximately 78000 - 119000 occasional listeners, the population size of the covered area 500000. Es entstand als Echo zum Studenten-Revolutionsjahr 1968. Gegründet wurde der Sender von der Sozialistischen Studentenvereinigung der Universität Laibach. Neben der Erarbeitung und Ausstrahlung von künstlerischen, informativen und musikalischen Programmen legt Radio Student großes Augenmerk auf seine bildendende Funktion. Radio Student bildet und lehrt junge Menschen den Umgang mit dem Medium, entweder für die Arbeit als Journalist, aber auch für alle anderen Tätigkeitsbereiche in einer modernen Radiostation. Das Hauptziel ist es, die Interessen von sozialen und kulturellen Minderheiten und auch jene der Studenten-Community abzudecken und zu unterstützen. Weiters ist das Senden von Information, Musik oder Kunstformen, die von andern Medien entweder übersehen oder absichtlich vernachlässigt werden ein wichtiges Prinzip von Radio Student.
